Hey guys,
I currently have a solicitor involved in preparing my wife’s visa application. She is happy with the way our application is looking.
However, I am fretting over us being able to satisfy the sole responsibility requirement and would like some additional perspectives on our chances.
To give some background, my Mexican wife has three boys from a previous relationship. Her ex boyfriend was abusive and involved in some very dodgy circles.
He vanished without a trace and has not been seen since 2012, even by his own parents. The consensus is that he is deceased but proving that would have been impossible in Mexico. My wife instead obtained full parental rights back in 2022 on the grounds of abandonment.
In addition to this court document, we have 19 documents dated at various points over the last 12/13 years.
These include: A personal statement from my wife introducing the evidence, registration of the youngest’s name and his baptism certificate. We have school registration documents ranging from 2017 to present and various receipts and school report. We also have a medical insurance document.
None of these documents have the father’s name on, just a blank field for “father” and align with my wife’s address.
We have an affidavit from the paternal grandfather, attesting to the fact his son hasn’t been a present figure for the timeframe stated. We also have affidavits from my mother in law and my wife’s employer, also attesting to her being solely responsible.
We have included various pictures of her with the boys over the years and are looking to finish off with an official letter from a teacher and doctor.
I don’t feel we can physically do much more. Do you think the above places us in a good position?
Many thanks in advance!
