My son British, I cant get him visa to travel to Uzbekistan.

Post by malikabonu » Wed Apr 27, 2011 12:57 am

I have got funny situation, Im uzbek national and my husband too, we both hold Indefinite Leave to Remain.
Our son born this year, as you are aware he can become automatic British. So Ive got British passport for my boy, we need to travel to uzbekistan, eo i have contacted the Uzbek Embassy in London, to get visa for my baby as British he needs uzbek visa to enter the country.
I have been advised that because me and my husband are uzbek national, baby does not need a visa, they will just stamp his pboto onto my passport. But we are not allowed to have dual nationality, so by law if I take him now to uzbekistan they will let me in the country but coming to uk is problem cause they want to see his visa to uk.
However, i cant get him visa because he is already british.....
Please advise me, Im stuck.....

Thanks

Well , I donno if on retyrn they will accept his british passport......
They said they cant place visa on my son passport because we are both uzbek nationals and he becomes uzbek national too. Therefore he does not need a visa, in our embassy they are so unhelpful. So i dont want to risk it and have problem at the airport...

This said,
1. Any individual who holds a passport of one country and is not eligible for citizenship / passport of another country should be issued a visa (by that other country), if one is needed, in the passport that the individual holds.
2. If Uzbek laws allow the child to be included in parent's passport, then the child can use parent's passport to enter/exit Uzbekistan and use British passport to enter / exit UK.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
