South African wanting to get back in Ireland

South African that has lived in Ireland before 5 years ago. I am aware of the recession thats going on worldwide. Firstly i would like to know if it would be a good decision to come over and study in ireland. i have a kid and would that be a problem if i had to bring him up if i were to stay and study in ireland.

Children are no longer entitled to free education at state schools for parents on a student visa.
