SP30: Penalty points and Citizenship application

Post by MorphineJack » Mon Oct 29, 2018 6:00 pm

Hello,

I've just discovered this forum and I already think that is a great place to exchange idea and opinions.
I hope you can help me understand whether worth applying now for British Citizenship or not.

I'm an Italian Software Engineer, working for British companies since 2012. After Brexit, I thought it is about time to apply to become a proud British Citizen!

Unfortunately, thought, in 2015 I was caught speeding at about 96mph where the limit was 70mph!
I know... a bit too much...

When I check my penalty points online I've got:

"You have
0 current penalty points"

The details of the offence are here below:

Offence dates
Offence date: 30 Apr 2015
Expiry date: 30 Apr 2018
Removal date: 30 Apr 2019
Offence details
SP30: Exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road
Penalty points: 6
Fine: £393.00
Court/Fixed penalty office
2950: Sussex (Central) Magistrates’ Court

As you can see, it is expired now, but I was called in court. I didn't go, as I pleaded guilty and paid the fine.
But my question is: will this have an impact on the Good Character requirements for my citizenship application?

Anyone can advice? Do I need the help of a solicitor?

Thank you in advance,
MJ.
