Speeding offence declaration in Naturalisation application

Post by sriram310 » Fri Jun 20, 2025 5:45 pm

Hi All,

I got a FPN SP30 notice for exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road on 27th September 2022. I regret my actions and paid a fine of £100. My penalty points are due to expire on 20th September 2025. I just checked my ILR application and I've missed to declare this as I interpreted the question as applicable 'only if the license is disqualified'. I got my ILR last year without any issues.

Q1) Should I declare this under Convictions and other penalties? choosing - A penalty for a driving offence, for example disqualification for speeding or no motor insurance?

Q2) Will it impact my naturalisation application if I declare the speeding fine now as I've missed to declare this in my ILR application?

Thanks in advance.

1) Yes, declare it
2) No. ILR and naturalisation are different applications with different requirements
