Sponsor licence Application submitted-WP running out of time

I'm currently on a work permit and the company I work for have already applied for a sponsor licence and agreed to get a sponsorship certificate for my employment.

The problem is that my work permit runs out at the end of September and the licence application hasn't yet been approved, which means my Tier 2 won't be approved by the time my current WP runs out. What is my immigration status after 1 October until the Tier 2 is received? Will I be able to stay in the UK until my Tier 2 application's been approved or will I have to return to my home country until it has been approved?

I am very concerned about this as I don't want to leave my employer without shift cover after 30 September and need to start planning my flights, etc if needs be.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

when did ur employer apply for SL? if it is already 4-5weeks back then u can keep fingers crossed to get the SL approval sometime soon.. But if something goes wrong try to be ready with Plan B..

Plan B would be - Do you qualify for Tier1(G).. but u still have 7-8weeks time to wait for ur SL n then CoS or go for Tier1(G) if u qualify...
