Hello guys!
I am so desperate to find answers and hoping could find one here.
I am living and working as a nurse in the uk for 2.3 years under health and care visa. I sustained a fracture last month and I only had few days left before I finish to render to my previous trust, accident happened I couldnt finish the remaining days. I applied SSP, but I think it only finish until the last date of my employment. I supposed to start to my new trust 18th of this month. But when I informed them about my situation they cancelled my induction date and moved next year 18th of January. Then I had another appointment with my ortho and he scheduled me for surgery. I told my new employer about this, then they put my start date on hold until I am physically fit.
My doctor showed me the post op timeline which takes 12-24 weeks thats like 3 or 4 months. I am currently unemployed since dec 10 with a possible gap of 60 days or more which is not allowable with my visa.
My new trust couldnt help or give me options, which was very devastating. They only advised me to return to my previous trust and asked for help, where in fact my visa and sponsorship is under the new trust.
Ive already asked helped from the union and their advice was going in circles, nothing was clear. They said I might be eligible to their foundations fund, but upon checking nothing suits for me due to my current visa status.
My previous manager helped me and spoke to the HR to possibly extend my last date due to the accident, and Im hoping they will consider the request.
My only concern is I dont get any pay for so long which is really depressing.
What will happen to my visa if Im away for so long from work because Im still healing?
Can I still get SSP even I havent started to my new job?
I hope someone could answer or has any idea. Thank you!
