Spousal Visa: Financial requirement under savings

It is a bit confusing when I consult the tabulation table for sponsors who would like to use their savings as proof of the financial requirement to bring their spouse to the UK on page 45 of the following document therefore I am seeking advice - https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... rement.pdf.

I am a British citizen looking to bring my husband and will not be working at the time of sponsorship and would like to use my savings. I am aware that his initial visa will be 30 months so how much savings would I need to have to prove I have met this requirement and how long should it have been in my account prior to the application.

Thank you for your prompt response. Could I also ask is I stop working as at the end of April 2022 and start the application of Sponsorship in May 2022 could I use all my previous earnings for the year towards the application? I currently work for £30,000 per annum gross.

Unfortunately not if you are thinking of relying on Category A or B (salaried employment) because you would need to be in employment at the time of the application.

However, look through the other categories of income in the document you provided the link for, some can be combined with cash savings.

What happens in the case where you have changed jobs in the course of the last six months prior to applying? Would both employments be considered and would I need to produce both employer letters?

If you worked for an employer for less than 6 months at the time of application the detailed requirements are described under Category B in the guidance (link above).

Employers whose payslips you are submitting in support of the application have to confirm in a letter:

(i) your employment and gross annual salary;
(ii) the length of your employment;
(iii) the period over which you have been or were paid the level of salary relied upon in the application; and
(iv) the type of employment (permanent, fixed-term contract or agency).
