Greetings,
First I would like to say that I have read a lot about Immigration to the EU in this forum and many others, but I find a lot of conflicting information and I have a few questions that I have not been able to answer with all the information I have read.
My story:
I am Uruguayan and my wife is Italian, We got married 18 months ago here in Venezuela. At this moment I have a job offer in Spain and want to know if it would be possible to accept it. My wife has a valid EU passport; my Uruguayan passport is also valid. We also have our Venezuelan marriage certificate with apostille. The job offer requires that I have a work permit in Spain or that I can obtain one relatively soon.
I contacted the Spanish consulate in Venezuela and they told me that I need an Italian marriage certificate.
My questions are:
1) Can I travel to Spain with my wife with one way tickets and enter Spain with the documents I stated above? would I have any trouble entering the country?
2) Can I work as soon as I get to Spain, during the first 3 months, while I get the family member residency card?
3) Do I have to register my marriage in Italy? The Italian consulate here says it could take 5 months, could we just remarry in
Spain to save that time?
4) How long is the process for the family member residency card?
I am sure that these questions have been asked before but after a week of searching, I still have doubts on these questions. Thanks!
