Spouse or civil partner of a settled person visa help

Post by iankavan » Sun Apr 27, 2014 5:41 pm

Hi All
I am Irish and living and working in the UK. My Fiancé is Russian and we are applying for the “Spouse or civil partner of a settled person visa ” as we intend on getting married once she gets here.
Having some trouble deciphering the application forms though
We filled it all out and checked it all over. The problem is the supporting documents needed.
I have sent the originals of my bank statements and letter from work showing that my income is above the limits. Also sent a copy of the info page of my passport as well, is this enough or do I have to send a full copy of each page of my passport?
Do I have to send anything else of are these sufficient and do any of the have to be translated to Russian? Also do any of her documents have to be translated to English, like here degree cert or passport?
Any help or information would be greatly appreciated

Ian

You appear to be applying for the wrong visa if you're not yet married. You should be applying for a Fiancé visa, which will allow her 6 months in the UK before you marry here. After the wedding she would have to apply for a 2.5 year extension on form FLR(M).
(Casa, not CR001)
Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
