Eu spouse, 7 days entry

Post by daddy » Tue Jun 01, 2010 1:51 am

pls help, i am a non eu, spouse of eu citizen, i am presently in ireland, living together with my wife. i came in 2 days ago and was issued with 7 days in my passport as a non visa national to ireland. i told the immigration that i am here on holiday with my eu wife{british} as we are newly married. But now, we have decided to live here in ireland and have found an accomodation already and signed the lease aggreement for one year today.
My question is this, what shall i do in other to regularise my stay because my 7 days stay will finish in 5 days time and my wife is not yet excercising her right following the directives. If my short stay expires will i be deported? pls help

You can do nothing for the first three months. At this time, you should apply for a Residence Card if your spouse is working, self-employed, studying or financially self-sufficient at that that.

Between now and then your right of residence in Ireland is unconditional - unless your spouse departs the state.

Does it mean that it is not neccessary to have the 3 months endorcement in my passport? if the police controls my passport and found that i dont have 3 months stay endorsed in my passport would that not be a problem?
Please I am only asking for more clearification, thanks for your help.
