Spouse ILR Application Help

Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question regarding my ILR application.

My wife is British and I come from a Non-EU country. I was working in America when I married my wife.

I entered to the UK at the end of December 2005 with a spouse visa. Shortly after my arrival, I had to go back to America to work for almost 6 more months (I have each payslip with me and I still do freelance work for the same company) and I came back to the UK at the end of May 2006.

Currently I work at a bookstore and I'm on payroll. My wife is employed well and we are expecting a baby soon. I have all sorts of statements, bills etc.

My question is, if I apply for an ILR in December 2007, will my staying in America for 5-6 months be a problem?

I will appreciate it if anyone can advise in this matter.
