Spouse Settlement Visa - Need suggestions

Post by forreal » Tue Mar 09, 2010 9:41 pm

Hi

I am in UK on WP from April 2005, so will be eligible to apply for ILR in April this year(2010). Now i am getting married in September(In India), so that time being an ILR holder my wife would be applying for Settlement visa.

I have been following settlement visa posts from quiet some time and visa processing time is not very encouraging. It seems to take at least couple of months and even more(Same as in Ukvisas site as well).

I have been in quiet good job with 40K salary/annum and save around 1500 per month after all expenses. I also have good saving and can provide rest of supporting documents like itemised bills, receipts of gifts etc. So it do make my application quiet straight forward. (I think/hope so!)

What are the chances of getting it processed within a month (or 30 Days from the day of applying)?

Otherwise do i delay my ILR processing and apply for WP dependent visa for my wife after marriage and apply ILR after returning back to UK? My WP is valid till Jan 2012 so i can wait.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Waiting may be better. A work permit dependant may be included with the work permit holder's subsequent ILR application (196E). KOL required.

As i will be eligible for ILR (In APril 2010), can my wife apply for ILR as well along with me as soon as we are back in UK after Marriage(September -October 2010) or she need to spend 1-2 years in UK before she will be eligible?
