Spouse Settlement Visa Renewal fm Outside UK

Hi,

I am on spouse settlement visa and My Visa is going to expire next week and i am outside UK on a family visit which got extended due to unavoidable circumstances. Please advice whether it is possible to extend the visa from outside UK ? and how to apply.

They would need to submit their passport.
The only way I can think of (and no idea if this is possible) would be to do a postal application sent by courier and have someone in the UK forward the passport back to them when processed but this would mean having to remain that country until whenever this entire process is complete.

You cannot 'extend' an application from outside the UK. What you in effect would be applying for is a new visa (entry clearance) and all the stuff you submitted when you originally applied but the current documents.

Even if you could extend from where you are, how are you going to get ALL the most recent documents and 2 years worth of cohabitation documents?

You will also have to pay the IHS Health Surcharge of £500 before you apply as you need the reference number. Without this number, any application you make will not be accepted.

The spouse has lived with her British husband in UK and she is still living there but she went outside UK to meet her parents along with her two british born children. Her stay has been extended due to certain circumstances and she is wondering what will happen if her visa expire while she is out side UK.

Her husband can pay the surcharge and gather all the documents which include the joint rent agreement, bank accounts, birth certificates of two children and medical record to establish that they have lived together and the relationship is intact.

Please advice what option she has, i know the best option is to travel back to UK and file the extension from there but she need to be here due to some property related issues and lawyer has told her that she have to appear when required.

With a visa expiring next week it doesn't give her a lot of time does it.

She will need to apply for a spouse visa on VAF4A and Appendix FM meeting all the requirements (financial and English) again.

Back to square one, like when a newly married spouse awaits for his/her visa!
