Spouse visa application.. -Source of funds

Post by rajguru090 » Fri Feb 12, 2010 12:27 pm

Hello Everyone.

I got my ILR in May 2009, and got married in India in Nov 2009. I want to get a spouse visa processed for my wife so she can join me in UK.

I earn 29000 per annum and have my payslips and bank statements to support.
My question --> In Dec 2009, I had a bank transfer done from one of my credit cards to my current account. Do I need to explain where these funds are comming from and what they are for ??

Also, I got into trouble in January when a fraudulent activity happened and my account was overdrawn for about 10 days. The bank was informed meanwhile and they credited the money back into my account.

Can someone please help tell if transfers into the account and out of the account will be a problem.. (£ 1000 - £ 2000 ) and if I have to explain about each of those transactions while applying for the visa.

thanks a lot for your help
raj

Transactions of the amount you mentioned should be explained.

On the other hand transfers that are made from a credit card, I don't think it will get you anywhere even if you explained it. This is because funds available from credit cards would not count towards your total income in the first place.

Hi Danbrix

Sorry If I caused a confusion. I wasnt expecting the transferred into my account to be considered as my income. My pay is credited into the account every month and thats my income.

My only question was, because I had credits comming into the account from other sources, do I need to explain each of the credit into the account.

Any advice on this issue is much appreciated.

thanks a ton.

My understanding is that you need to explain transactions of large deposits coming into your account.

Have a look at this
UK Visas - Maintenance & Accommodation (MAA) wrote:MAA5 What evidence of maintenance is required?

For applicant's and / or sponsor's funds:

* Statements covering at least 3 months
* Are there regular transactions?
* Are the funds immediately available?
* Large deposits with no evidence of normal transactions need careful examination.
