Post by keloid » Wed Jan 25, 2012 12:46 pm

Upon applying for a spouse visa and subsequently booking an appointment at the local embassy, does applicant have to be accompanied to the appointment....or can the applicant go by themselves?

many thanks

Hi keloid

Since its the applicant who is applying for the VISA, he/she needs to be there to hand in the application. Biometrics will be done on the same time as well, as far as I know. However it is not a requirement to accompany the applicant to the VFS offices to hand in the paperwork for the VISA application.
Feb 2012 - Spouse Visa - New Delhi
Mar 2012 - Documents collected - VISA Granted
March 2014 - ILR Granted
Apr 2015 - Applied for Naturalisation
Nov 2015 - Naturalised

Only applicant needs to be present, the application is for just the one person.
