2 Yr Spouse Visa To Asylum Case

Hi,

Can someone point me to or advise of how a person goes from a 2 year spouse visa to an Asylum case can this be done in cases of domestic violence? Also, the person doesn't have any home back home was staying with relatives who supported her.
