You don't need stamps. The online version is just fine.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

Spouse Visa - eVisa

Post by cham2024 » Wed Jun 26, 2024 11:19 am

Hello,

I did my biometrics and submitted all supporting documents at the visa centre in London yesterday. In the application and most of my supporting documents have the address which my husband and I currently live at. However, we are moving houses end of this month. In the application where it asks "Where do you plan to live together?", I have put our new address. I have also stated it clearly in the cover letter that we are moving houses end of this month.

I am anxious as to where they will send the BRP card therefore called the UKVI number where an agent told me that she thinks the home office is no longer issuing physical BRP cards, as they are now issues as eVisa. The agent didn't sound quite sure and mentioned this herself. I am anxious that if the visa is processed and is successful, will they send the BRP to my old address and has anyone recently received the eVisa, then it should be no problem?

Many thanks,
C

Any information from the listed telephone numbers are unreliable and many a person led astray. They are not HO employees but contractor telephone centres.
The evisa is just being rolled out in phases/test phase and not fully implemented, applicants travelling still told to hold BRP as this still in force with some airlines not aware about evisa yet so nothing is clearcut yet with evisa.

If you indicated where you want it sent expect it there.

Thank you very much for your reply. I also got the email by gov.uk to create the UKVI account and for the eVisa. But the person on the phone mentioned to wait until I get the new BRP and not to upload my old BRP, which is now expired. Given your response on the listed telephones being not reliable (which I agree), should I upload my BRP and have the eVisa or just wait for the new one? I have created the UKVI account so far.

Many thanks,
C
