Spouse Visa Extn - Ltd company, Payslip = Gross + Exp

Post by v_2sdas » Sat Jan 30, 2016 10:05 pm

Hello,

I have my own limited company and my auditor generates payslips for me. My monthly salary is a combination of my salary (£ 1048) + expenses (£ 500) highlighted in the payslip.

So my payslip shows as:
Basic: 1048
Expenses: 500
Net Payable = (Basic + Expenses) - Tax/NI

To the best of my knowledge, I am only allowed to claim £1048 as the Basic salary component. Is that correct?

My only problem is that the Salary credit in my personal bank statement shows the Net payable amount which is different from the 'Basic component' (£1048) which I am claiming.

Will it lead to any confusion for the case worker as the two figures don't match? I am going for the same day PEO appoitment.

Kindly advice
Regards,
SD

Doesn't make sense, your expenses are your actual incurred expenses, you cannot claim a flat rate. I think your accountant has this very wrong.

Aside for that expenses aren't income, they are reimbursements for out of pocket expenses.

Many thanks for your reply. The expenses are not a flat rate and it varies on a monthly basis. They are all legitimate business expenses.

I am perfectly fine with just claiming my earnings (Basic part - £1048) but if you could please read my mail again, you will see that the problem I am referring to is something else - mismatch of Basic earnings I plan to claim and the amount which is in the personal bank statements.

Thanks.

I have my own Ltd and I have always kept my salary, dividends and expenses as separate transactions into my personal account in case of issues like these, even though I might incur a charge on the business account.

I don't know what to suggest other that follow my example and try again in six months.

£1048 per month isn't enough anyway so there's no point in applying.

Well, I will be claiming my dividends as well. So, I plan to show both my Salary and Dividends.

Honestly, I can just go with the dividends, however my First accounting period is 12 months + 15 days, hence two CT600 has been filed. The first one covers the whole 12 months and the second one covers the remaining 15 days, however one of the dividends I withdrawn falls under the second CT 600.

Will home office only consider the dividends covered under the first CT 600 or all dividends during the accounting period, which in my case is 12 months + 15 days?

Kindly advice!
