Spouse Visa help

Post by infabmfy » Fri Jan 11, 2019 3:12 pm

British citizen living and working in Hong Kong for the past 5 years. What’s the requirements for applying for my spouse visa if we plan to move to the Uk with our dependent child.

Unless you have £62,500 in savings which have been held in an accessible account for at least six months, you will have to submit evidence of earnings in Hong Kong of the equivalent to £18,600 in the 12 month period prior to the date of submission AND have a confirmed offer of employment to start within 3 months of your arrival in the UK....again meeting the £18,600 p.a minimum earnings level.

If you can't meet either of these, you will have to return to the UK and submit the Spouse Settlement visa application once you have 6 months of payslips showing £9,300 (£18,600 p.a)

This is assuming your child holds British nationality.

And if the child has Hong Kong nationality what is the savings required. Can we include my husbands earnings in Hong Kong (Over £40000) the past 12 months and savings as part of the application? Do we need to show proof of address in the UK as part of the application as well.

Even allowing for your dependent child, you meet the minimum earnings level providing you have a job offer in the UK to start within 3 months of arrival with a salary of at least £22,400 p.a

You will also need proof of adequate accommodation which will be available on your arrival in the UK.
