Spouse visa ireland from morocco

Post by Medsaoud1 » Wed Jun 18, 2025 3:00 pm

Hello,

I’m a Moroccan national currently living in Ireland on a Stamp 4 (based on Leave to Remain/asylum). I’ve been living in Ireland for 7 years, graduated from university here, and currently working full-time with an income of €47,000/year. I’m 30 years old, and I am planning to marry my partner (she is 22) and apply for her to join me in Ireland.

I would like to ask:
1. Where do I apply for the spouse visa — online or through the Irish embassy?
2. What is the average processing time for a spouse visa (Join Family) for a Stamp 4 holder?
3. What are the exact documents needed to support the application? (e.g. proof of income, accommodation, relationship, etc.)
4. I currently live in a house owned by a friend — is a letter from him + proof of ownership acceptable for accommodation?
5. Would it cause an issue if I don’t have a formal lease agreement or utility bill in my name?

I want to make sure everything is done correctly from the start.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice!

1. Spouse visa is applied online: Link can be found here - https://www.irishimmigration.ie/coming- ... ly-member/

2. Processing times is in excess of 1 year. You can check which date has been processed at this link :https://www.irishimmigration.ie/visa-decisions/

3. Documents can be found here - https://www.irishimmigration.ie/coming- ... ly-member/

4. Your friend will need to submit proof of ownership, his passport copy, phone number and address along with a letter showing he is willing to accommodate your spouse at her arrival.

5. You need a utility bill at least to confirm your address. If you don't have a formal lease the above letter by the owner of the house might work.

To keep your application strong, give as much evidence of relationship and financial dependence as possible. A lot of applications are refused as the applicants fail to prove their relationship i.e. communication, visit, phone calls, translated messages, receipts of fund transfers etc.

Include a separate detailed document showing relationship history, include communication and evidence prior to marriage (if available). You can include engagement ceremony pics, affidavits from your family and spouse's family confirming the relationship is genuine etc. Write it out in chronological sequence with exact dates and evidence (if possible).

Make sure all government documents are duly attested.
