Spouse Visa - Married in UK with Certificate of Approval

Post by VillanToby » Tue Jul 25, 2006 11:48 pm

I have just got married a few months back in the UK after my wife gained her certificate of approval, and will soon be applying a spouse visa for her.

One thing I am not sure is that I have asked the staff from the home office and they told me to bring 3months worth of bank statements, however while reading most posts on here you all seems to be taking at least 6 months worth of statements, so I a bit confuse of what to bring.

Also most of my savings are in my joint account and ISA account, however I only get a statement for my Joint and ISA account from the bank once in 3 months, therefore I am not sure whether my last statement (ie. April 06) would be adequate as an evidence of my financial backround. Also will they accept statement from print out on my internet banking? (as I was told by a HSBC staff that it should be acceptable for the Home Office)

One final thing, because my wife was married in the UK and was granted the certificate of approval, is that sort of means that it would be easier for her to apply for the spouse visa???

Any reply would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It would help if you clarified:
- her nationality; and
- her existing visa status; and
- how long she has remaining on her visa

Thanks for the reply. Her nationailty is Hong Kong, and at the moment she is holding the working holiday permit and will expire in the end of September this year. And we will be applying the visa in person this Friday 28th July.

Hope this clarify things.
