Spouse Visa

Post by MRizwan » Mon Jun 22, 2015 2:55 pm

Dear All,

I am in the process of applying for my Wife's visa who is currently in Pakistan. I am on ILR.

My questions is about the accommodation requirement. I currently rent a double bedroom in a shared house. My landlord lives with me. The house is not over crowded and I will get the survey done. I currently do not have a tenancy agreement. I know I cannot get an Assured Shorthold tenancy agreement because my landlord lives with me. If I get another type of tenancy agreement, will it affect my Wife's application? Do I need to get a No objection Letter from my landlord?

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Rizwan.

A house inspection report is not compulsory. However, if there is one, then make sure that it's not false.

No objection letter from landlord should be okay. Landlord should confirm that accommodation is adequate.

Many thanks for your advise Vinny, PariJ.

I will get the following documents.

1)Formal Tenancy document
2)House inspection survey report
3)No Objection letter from my landlord

If I get Excluded Tenancy Agreement (Lodgers Agreement), is that okay?

I understand Survey report is not mandatory but I will get a professional survey done, to be on the safe side.

I do not pay council tax. My landlord does. Do I still need to provide it?

Further advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

CT bill is used as additional proof of adress - use another document if you don't pay it.

Spelling error on Marriage certificate

Post by MRizwan » Tue Aug 11, 2015 8:28 am

Dear All,

On my marriage certificate, my first name 'Mohammad' is spelt as Muhammad. All other details are correct. I am about to apply for my wife's spouse visa. On her passport her husband's name is appearing as Muhammad too because it was taken from the marriage certificate. It should be 'Mohammad'.

Can somebody please advise if that will be a problem? Should I get the name changed or go ahead with her application?

I am from Pakistan. Alternatively, should I get my Nikah nama (Marriage Certificate) attested by Pak Embassy?

Your advise will be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
