Spouse visa

Post by shiva_1912 » Sun May 24, 2009 11:54 am

Hello,

I am a Permanent resident in UK for the past 4 years and still own Indian passport.
By the first week of july I am getting married and my fiancée is holding an Indian passport but living in US for the past 2 years.
I have few questions in processing a spouse/dependent visa for her and I hope I can get some help on some of my questions and get myself prepared with all the necessary documents.
1. Since I am a Permanent resident does my fiancée need to write Life in UK exam before applying for the visa.
2. How long she will be granted her visa, will it be a Permanent residency visa or a temporary visa?
3. How long will it take to process the visa (will be applying her visa from Chennai consulate) and what is the visa processing fee nowadays?
4. What kind of documents I need to submit on my side when I apply for her visa.
5. Does she need to submit any documents from her side if so what kind documents that would be.
6. Do I need show the evidence of her travel like do I need to submit her flight ticket along with her visa application.
7. What kind of letters I need to submit along with her visa application like letter from my employer, may be a letter from me right and any other letters?

I know some of these questions could me bit basic but just want to clear them.

Thanks for the help.

Shiva
