You stand no chance at all if you submit false information or withhold information relevant to the application. If you intend not to state that you are currently unemployed and claiming benefits, how do you propose to submit the necessary documents showing employment, earned income and contact details of your employer? Bear in mind that the UKBA have access to information stored by other Government departments, which includes HMRC.

Apart from that, an application can succeed when someone is unemployed and claiming Public Funds, but they would need to show that they wouldn't need to claim additional benefits once their spouse joined them in the UK.
As your benefits have been calculated for a single person, it may well be difficult to show you will be able to support yourselves financially. You may also find the substantial cost of the initial 2 year visa prohibitive.
