Spouse Visa - Working Abroad

Hi Guys,

I'm a British Citizen and my wife is currently in the UK on a spouse visa. I've graduated from University and I am wanting to apply for jobs. There are a lot of jobs available outside of the UK that have interested me, but my concern is that if I was to go overseas to work - would this impact our visa extension application?

She works in the UK and lives with me at the moment in our family home, I don't intend on working abroad forever and I do intend on living in the UK with my wife - however I just wanted to ensure that if I do work abroad even if it's for a year or two - that it doesn't impact our future application.

We've already gained an extension on our application, and the next step will be the ILR.

When your wife submits her application for ILR, you will be required to provide documented evidence that you are living together in the UK. This will include proof of your income from employment in the UK and 6 pieces of evidence of joint accommodation.

To avoid risking the refusal of your wife's SET(M) application, it would be advisable to wait until she has been granted ILR and is no longer under Immigration control, before working abroad.
