SSP and ILR

Hi

My husband is due to apply for his ILR (set M) in 2 weeks. Unfortunately he was taken into hospital last week where he had to stay for 3 days. He has been discharged but has been signed off work for 6 weeks. His employer will pay him Statutory Sick Pay.Can you tell me if Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) is a public fund? We have two weeks before we attend the PEO appointment and dont want anything to affect the outcome.
