Stamp 4 EUFAM Query

Post by rajashahidaly » Thu Dec 08, 2022 11:08 am

Hi Guys
Could someone please, clarify this,

I have recently got my Irish Naturalisation and My wife has stamp 1G at the moment.

As now I have Irish citizenship could my wife be eligible for stamp 4 EUFAM ? or she will only get stamp 4 ?

I read elsewhere that Irish non EU spouses can only get stamp 4 not EUFAM.

And what would be the procedure for same?

Thanks in advance

Only stamp 4.
4EUFAM will be only if you were a national of another EU country and exercised your EU treaty rights in Ireland, which is what stamp 4 signifies; since you're Irish and live in Ireland, it's covered by Irish immigration laws -> Stamp 4.

If you were previously exercising EU Treaty in Ireland as an EU (non-Irish) citizen, OR if you were previously exercising EU Treaty in another EU country as an Irish citizen, you can continue to do so, which means your family member will be entitled to a 4EUFAM.

If you were previously a non-EU citizen living in Ireland, you are not exercising EU Treaty, therefore your family members are not entitled to 4EUFAM.
