Stamp 1 - General Skills Visa - Advice needed urgently!

Post by midoso » Thu Jan 31, 2019 2:08 am

Hello everyone,

I ll first discuss my case briefly then indicate my question.

I am on my 4th year in Ireland as a PhD scholar funded by an Irish university, I am doing PhD in managememt studies. My father already bought a property over here and also proper share in food & beverages company. He never been to Ireland and signed me a power of attorney to look after his investments over here. Now I wanna apply for stamp 1 as a chef de partie to work in one of our company's restaurants. I decided to apply as a chef since I can't apply as a manager to such business. I have experience working in Egypt and Italy as a pizza chef and can bring documents to prove this experience. Also, I have been working in this restaurant on a part-time basis for the last few months.

Now my question, is it possible for a PhD graduate to apply for Stamp 1 as a chef? is it possible to get rejected that this specialisation is too far away from my academic career? if you believe its not possible to apply as a chef, are there anu alternative solutions?

Looking forward to receiving your responses

Best Regards
