starting date on visa stamp for the 3 year HSMP extension

Post by salman_7777 » Sat Feb 26, 2005 12:20 am

Hi, My HSMP expires in mid May. I plan to send my documents soon after mid March. If I get my extension sooner than the expiry of my one year HSMP visa, what 'd be the validity period of 3 year extension ? Will it start on the day, its approved or after the expiry of 1 year HSMP visa? . Appreciate the input from the member who got their extensions lately. I was also wondering if i can send my application via recorded next day delivery.

Based on couple of posts, it looks like the processing time has improved for FLR (IED). Is it still appropriate to apply 2 months in advance ?

cheers !

I would say start collecting all your documents and have them ready for dispatch as soon as the 2 months comes about. at the same time just keep an eye on the updates as well as the information on this forum. there might be no need to actually send it in early.
p.s dont forget as well that the fees will probably be going up in april, so you might want to get it in b4 the big rise, as well be aware of the fact that a lot of applications will be coming in from guys trying to avoid the big rise

f2k, thanks for the message. I agree with you about the processing time.

Any answer to my first question ? When does 3 year extension period start on the passport ? The day you get the approval or after the expiry of 1 year visa?

cheers !

The 3 year extension period starts after the expiry of 1 year visa.
