Student Dependent Visa

Post by desnetk » Wed Sep 14, 2005 4:37 am

Hi,
Recently I have discussed with a consultant about obtaining my dependent visa. She said it seems impossible to get me a student dependent visa.

I get married to my wife just after her visa stamped for 1 year as a student. She got it stamped on July 15th and I married to her on July 20th. So that my consultant said that the visa officer will reject me for this simple reason.

Neither our parents know about this marriage and now her relatives there are forcing her to marry someone there. She really find it difficult to manage this situation. So she needs me to be with her there.

Could someone kindly help me on this.

You have posted about this before. The advice you have already been given stands.

What did the consultant say was the problem in you getting a student dependent visa?

Hi John,
Thank yo for your help.

My consultant said since we get married just after she got her visa stamped I can't go to live with her there. I have around 5000pounds with me in the bank for 3 months. I thought this is enough first. The Student Adviser in my Wife's Uni has advised her to send copies of her documents which relevent to her Student Visa. So now I have all of them with me except the accomadation letter that she will send me within next week.

She also have a room in the Uni. Hostel for both of us and she already have paid for that also.

I'm so desperate to hear that I can't join my wife in UK. but I red in UKOSA that the husband can join the wife with no problem.

what do you think of this matter

My reaction to that is .... get a different consultant! Or indeed why bother with a consultant because probably all the help you need is here on this Board.

Download a form VAF1, complete it, get your supporting evidence together .... and get the application in! Hope it all works out.

Not really a point about the visa situation ... when you come to the UK it will be so that you live with your wife! Your families will therefore get to know about this. The two of you cannot hide the marriage forever!

Your Consultant could be having some practical insight into how visa applications are dealt with in your country. Maybe there is a high rejection rate in your country for whatever reason which is why your Consultant is advising you that your application is likely to be turned down.

Thank you for your prompt response. I dunt want to see my passport get stamped with reject seal. So that's why I'm this cosern on this matter.

Apart from this I can get a leave for 1 years of time from my present Employer stating that they will accept me after I came back to my country. I think this will be a plus point.

I'm planning to launch my application end of this month. Do you think it's advisable to attach any additional documants with my Application..
