STUDENT STATUS

Post by needhsmphelp1977 » Sat Oct 13, 2007 1:06 pm

Hi guys,

I am curently considering applying for the HSMP visa, I have completed my Masters in the United Kingdom and have graduated from that programme in June 2006. However since then I have applied and have been attending a course. Due to situations out of my control `the course was not taught to the Syllabus and I was unable to complete the program.

My question is as I was a student for the past 12 months (but could not complete the program) would I be still entitled to apply for the HSMP visa using previous earnng during the twelve month period before becoming a student despite the fact that I was unable to complete the second course because of situations outside of my control.

Look forward to your responses.

Many thanks

Paul

When did you stop studying? Did you get an extension to the visa for the course you didn't complete? Did you work full-time after you stopped studying? Did you notify the Home Office?
I am not, and cannot, offer legal advice to particular people. I can only discuss general areas of immigration law.

People should always consider obtaining professional advice about their own particular circumstances.

Hi Amanda

Thanks for your reply in connection to your queries.

I did not stop studying I continued to take the module which was being offered by the institution, unfortunately when I first joined the college was only offer two courses on the syllabus, I sat one examination and did not take the other one because the teaching of the course was not to a level where i was able to understand what was being taught. Then in the second semester, the college offered three courses, two were repeated from the previous semester, so all together out of the six courses required to complete the diploma three courses were taught, out of the three I past two and failed one.

I did not work full time during this period and unfortunately I did not notify HOme Office about this because I was not sure what to do and was scared of the out come if I did report them to the Home Office.

Yes for the course which was not completed I was doing i got an extension on previous student visa,.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regard

Paul
