Student visa to Canada...Help Please

Post by ndeshi » Tue May 15, 2007 9:47 pm

My husband is an assylum seeker in the UK with a pending decision which has lasted for over 2years now ....he cant work...Meanwhile he applied to a Uk university, was accepted but has to pay international fees which i cant afford ,however we applied to Canada where fees are affordable for me (about 1/2 uk fees)and if he is accepted we will be in a dilemma cos how and where will we be eligible to apply the study visa from?London or nearest Consulate back home? Will he be accepted given that I and my daughter will remain in the UK where Im employed on a work permit?
Please Help..

Hi,

You can apply to CHC, London but i dont see that because of the status of your husband in uk. They might think that your main intention is to go there and apply for Asylum and not interested in studies.

Your husband since he's 'statusless' in the UK cannot apply for any visa in the CHC in London. His best bet is to go to your home country to apply.

Even if you are granted a student visa and you want him to come with you as a dependant, it would be impossible without any form of status in the UK.

Just pray that his asylum application is looked at anytime soon and granted some form of leave to remain before you attempt to make an application on his behalf. His current status would no doubt have a bearing or weight on your application too.
Praise The Lord!!!!
