Student visa expired, PSW not received - can I work?

Post by Kerry SW » Fri Oct 24, 2008 12:40 am

What it says on the tin. My student visa will expire on 31 October, but I haven't received a decision on the post-study work application. Due to a bureaucratic mess at my university, I wasn't able to send it in until 14 October, so there's pretty much no way it'll get back in time.

What is my legal status after my student visa expires? Can I continue to work in the UK? I obviously can't leave as my passport is in the application, but I'm confused as to how I'm supposed to support myself until I get the application back.

The leave is "treated as continuing".
