Hi
I have a question relatd to US F1 VISA. I am an international student admitted in UT Austin for fall 2005 session in ELectrical and Computer Engg dept for MS/PhD.
As is not uncommon with international students entering US, my first VISA application was rejected starightaway by the officer last week. Usually, they did not give any solid reason to you, stating that I have failed to prove a genuine student, and that I seek to enter US for studying purposes only. (Admission in UT AUstin is enough evidence for my seriousness in studies). Anyways, i showed my uncle as my sponsor. He is at a good position. I showed his letter of support, and a bank statement.
Now, i am going to re apply. I had this idea in my mind: "I transfer some amount (equal to my first year expense) in my own account, and tell VISA officer that as proof of my uncle's committment of sponsoring me, he has transferred this much amount in my acount. I can also show the officer his salary and other financial statements, which are ideally, enough for convince him, that he is financially good". Now, what do you think on this attitude and stand..?
I am thinking this, because usually US rejects VISA on accounts of sponsorship issues. ie.e. sometimes they think that a person's sponsor would not be able to sponsor this candidate and thus reject his VISA. This time I think I have to change my stand, and be more convincing on this issue. Would it help..?. what are your comments.? Also, what would be the more convincing answer to the question as to why your uncle is sponsoring you..? Now, what can i tell them, man, he is sponsoring me. he is kind, and i am a good nephew.. etc etc..but, they regard it less convincing...
Also, what are your comments/suggesitons for making my F1 VISA applciation and interview more convincing and strong.?.
I hope to hear you soon on this issue..
Best Regards
