Suggestion Reqd- Applying early, Specialized

Post by Rajan » Sun Jun 20, 2004 7:54 pm

Hi Friends,

First of all i'd like to thank U all for making this forum a great success, specially to  Chess, Kayalami, cosmopol, Joseph and other friends who share their experience here.
I am Rajan, and reading the views expressed here for the last 2 months.

Anyway, i am also planning to apply for HSMP, as U people do. And i need your help for this. I want to know...

1. I am meeting earnings points criteria by earning that much in a year.
My question is...my current salary is fulfilling this earnings slab & i'll complete one year with this salary(Company) in AUG. CAN i apply in July( one month before completing one year), as my sal of 10/11 months is sufficient to cross that slab. By doing this i want to be in que earlier...which'll save time for me and by the time application 'll be assigned to case worker, i can send them my Aug payslip also. Pls comment !!!

2. If i want to claim points for Specialised position and i give them some proofs, but still if they are not satisfied with that . Then... whole application 'll be rejected or i won't get points for that position???

Thanks a lot, Friends !!

:D Rajan

1. The HSMP guide is quite clear that they calculate earnings for the past 12 months without projecting the current rate into the future. However, since you are so close to crossing the required threshhold, there is no harm in asking for an exception in your cover letter - other than losing 3 months or so + the app fee IF your request for the exceptional consideration is not granted. I'd rather waste 6-8 weeks waiting 'till you reach the required 12-month earnings, and not waste the entire app.

2. You only lose points per the section that failed to convince the HSMP team. However, if that causes your total score to drop below the required minimum, your app is obviously rejected.
