Super priority ILR application delayed without any notification

Post by temp_or_well » Thu Jul 31, 2025 7:34 pm

Hello all, I am currently applying for ILR set (O) under the 5-year skilled worker route. I used the super priority service and it is advertised that a decision should be made before the end of the next working day after the biometrics appointment. I attended my biometrics appointment on 29th July and should get a decision by the end of 30th July. However, I still have not received a decision now and there is no notification or further information from the UKVI regarding why the delay.

I understand that some people get their super/priority service delayed and this is not a guaranteed service, but they usually receive an email within the advertised timeframe telling them about the delay and/or the reason of delay. I am worried because there is no further information at all in my case. Is it possible they (e.g., the TLScontact staff) accidently put my application to the standard application queue?

I have called the UKVI for an escalation on my case, but if I don't hear back from them in a few days. I wonder should I submit a new ILR application and hope the new one goes through super priority service smoothly? Is there anything else I can do or anyone I can ask for help?

Because of the government's white paper in May and all the upcoming changes to the ILR immigration rules, this delay is really killing me. Thank you very much for your help!

It is NOT the TLS Contact Staff who decide where your application goes in terms of processing time. Super priority is a UKVI service and has nothing to do with TLS Contact, who is only a 3rd party agent for biometrics.

What is submitting a new application going to achieve? You cannot have two applications with UKVI at the same time.

Have you checked your junk mail folder?

Just be patient and wait a couple of days.

Thank you for the reply. I did check my email plenty of times, including the junk folder.

I know I cannot have 2 applications at the same time and once I submit the new application the old one will not be considered any more. I am thinking if there were some accidents with the old application which made it delayed, by submitting a new application, I think the new one could have another chance to be processed within the new super priority timeframe.

You lose your money as you have already attended biometrics and have to pay for a new application again, with no guarantee you will get super priority service or a quick response if you do.

Bear in mind it is the summer holidays and UKVI likely have capacity issues due to staff holidays. Super priority is never guaranteed.

Just be patient.

Many thanks. In this type of situation (i.e., already out of the advertised timeframe, but without any notification), will they usually treat the application with some priority (so I still get a quicker decision than standard applications), or they just give up on any fast decisions and treat the application as a standard one (8 weeks to 6 months)?

Likely you will get a quicker decision than standard service and you could get a refund of the super priority fee.
