Swap FLR application

Post by siber » Thu Sep 30, 2004 2:29 pm

Dear All,

Is it possible to swap FLR application from HSMP to WP?

I've applied for HSMP and FLR from the UK and am waiting for the decision. As well I got a job offer. I wouldn't like to speed up my HSMP as my student visa expired now and in the case of refusal I would need to leave the UK in 28 days.

Safer way could be to get work permit meanwhile but it is forbidden to have two FLR applications at the same time. So I'd like to either swap FLR from HSMP to WP or withdraw HSMP FLR and apply for a new one with Work permit as IED.

What do you think would be the best thing to do?

you could fax to them your job offer and they will treat your HSMP application as 'urgent'. i am not sure how long this will take and dont know how long you have until you take up your job offer.
the option of WP application would interest me more cause it is faster, but before you take that into account you might want to look at the new rules on 'switching' which come into effect i think tomorrow (1st of october), you might be affected since you will be changing from student visa. there is always that option of getting your company to apply for your WP and then you go back to your home country for an entry clearance visa. depending with the ease in which you can do this in your country i would say this would be my favoured option as it is probably the quickest

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Application submitted on August 6.

Application ref. number 0241xx

In-country applicant, Russian.

Application submitted with offer letter.

After 6 weeks (Sept 17) my prospective employer sent a fax to Home Office confirming the offer and asking for urgent consideration. 6 days later I emailed Home Office and got confirmation that my application is in the "Urgent folder".

Today (Sept 30) received mail from Home Office with approval of my application (haven't seen the letter yet, my wife told me by phone).

Looks like fast tract applications are getting processed quite quickly. So now I have to do FLR.

Good luck to everyone!

Novice (maybe it's time to change my nick?)
