Switch from one employer to another ..

Hi Guys,

I hope someone in this forum can help me with correct information.
I've completed Masters in UK in 2011 and was on PSW till 20th March,2014. Before my visa expired, I got a job as Programmer and joined company A, who also sponsored me. The Visa is valid till March 2017. But after 2 months working there, I've found another sponsor who offered me a similar sponsorship visa and want me to work for him. Also, working under my current employer Company A, I've found the work and task given to me were out of my contract and management has very least respect towards its employees and some other reasons.

The question for me is, since its only a week's notice for first year with my employer either side from me or them, can I switch to another sponsor in UK ? If yes, is there's any cool off period or a minimum time to be spent under employment with the current Sponsor ?(I understand that the sponsor can cancel his sponsorship at any time), my current visa expires on 19th March,2017.

you can switch any time to another sponsor. The process is:

get a CoS from the new sponsor
apply for a new grant of leave
resign, but only after your application has been granted

Hi Manci,

Thanks a lot for the reply. One thing I'm not clear is that, a friend of mine told me that I have to work with the Current Employer Company A, for a minimum of 6 months( In my Case, from March 2014 to September 2014) ? Is there any such minimum requirement ? Also if I submit my resignation( I can say, my current employer is really exploitative kind) while my visa is under process with the new employer, Will I able to stay in UK Till i get my outcome of Visa? I struggle to understand that Once I apply visa with the new employer, will my current employer know about it ( before getting the outcome of Visa)before I submit my resignation ? Also will that effect any outcome ( of applying second time with different employer) from UKBA ?

don't do it - if your application is refused for whatever reason you will be without a job. If you finish your employment with your current sponsor they will have to report it to the HO and your visa will be curtailed to 60 days.
