Switch to Spouse Visa

Post by peewols » Fri Jan 22, 2016 10:45 am

Hi house,

I am presently on a tier 4 visa in the UK but I am getting married to a UK citizen in a couple of weeks and I want to be sure my past immigration records will not affect my application. In the past, I have worked more that 20hrs during term time on my study visa. Will this affect me when i want to process my new application after marriage? Will appreciate candid replies. Thank you

Unfortunately, yes it may. FLR(M) applications when switching from another category within the UK come under a great deal of scrutiny, especially if the applicants current visa is close to the expiry date. I suggest you apply by post, not in person. After registering your intent to marry at the Registry Office, did you have to attend a Home Office interview?
