switching Asylum to work permit Ireland.

What can I do while my asylum application is pending? I’m wondering if I can do anything while I am waiting? i was thinking of switching my application to work permit (employment visa).

My question is, is it possible to switch to work visa category .
And is there any specific list of emlpoyers who can sponsor for visa ?
