Switching from T2 ICT to T2 General

Came to UK with Business Visa on 2011 and then later traveled to UK again with T2 ICT Long term on 2014 and continuing here with T2 ICT long term. My question would be , is that possible to Switch to T2 General (either from UK or outside of UK) and also whether eligible for ILR. Please advise.

1. You can switch to T2 General from ourside UK. However, a cool-off of 12 months will apply after you return back to India to be eligible to apply for T2 general.

2. Not eligible for ILR on your current visa. If you manage to switch to T2 General, you can apply for ILR after 5 continuous years in UK (as per current rules).

"Switching" = changing immigration categories from within the UK.
Entry clearance is "not" switching, so there is nothing termed as "switching from outside the UK".

If we go by literal definition, I agree.

Does this mean, I can apply for entry clearance (T2 General) outside of UK before T2 ICT expires and can travel immediately with no cooling off period?

Cooling off period of 12 months from the date of return will apply in your case.
