Switching from IGS to Tier HSMP

Can someone please help me with these queries:

How many months stay do I need to have on my visa in order to apply for the Tier HSMP?

When I can start counting my revenue:
the day i Graduated?
the day I submitted my dissertation
or the day my exams were over?
