Switching from Tier 4 dependent to Tier 2 (General)

Post by Ekta_GD » Thu Nov 24, 2011 12:43 pm

Has anyone on this forum has tried to switch from Tier 4 dependent to Tier 2 (General). If yes, can you please share your experience? I am a Tier 4 migrant doing my Master's degree and my visa is valid up to Sept 2012. My husband has a Tier 4 dependent visa valid till the same date. He has been here for 6 months and works as a Business Analyst with a wall street bank. Can he apply for a switch now? Would the company have to go through Resident Labour Market test in order to sponsor his visa? Are there some other important points we should take note of?

Thanks so much.

1. He may switch whenever he wishes to.
2. Yes.
3. Reading the policy guidance will help him understand (all) the points he needs to keep in mind.
