Switching jobs with the same employer

Not sure if this has been addressed here already, if so mods please share the link

I am wondering if one can switch a job within the same employer. I work for a University in the Public Relations department and thinking of switching to the marketing department. The Code might be different (and I'll go through the interview / resident labour test too). How would it work on Tier 2?

Depends

* If code changes and reclassification is only because of change from SOC 2000 code list to SOC 2010 code list then change of employment is not needed

* If code changes and reclassification is not because of change from SOC 2000 code list to SOC 2010 code list then change of employment is needed and so is a resident labour market test.

You must also meet Salary for new Profession as follows

* If less than 3 years of tier 2 then begineer rate
* If more than 3 years on tier 2 then experienced rate
