Switching Jobs within Tier 2

Please I need some help with my situation. I have been offered a new role within the same company. The tasks in my current role and the new role are the same and under similar SOC classifications. The only caveat is that when I applied for earlier in 2012 it was under SOC 2132 (SOC 2000 class) which has now been moved to SOC 2139 (SOC 2010 class). I have been told that I need to send in another visa application for a job that falls within the same job description because some else has been offered the new SOC with the job. I do not think this should be the case as changes after 6 April 2013 should not be applicable to me. The link below does not seem to include my exception. Please could someone help me out here!
