Switching to Tier 2 from PSW dependant visa

Can anyone advise if i am able to make an in country application to switch from a PSW dependant visa to Tier 2? My hubby was on a PSW visa which has now run out but i just secured a work permit job this week and would like to know if we can make a tier 2 application from within the UK and switch categories successfully without leaving the UK.
