TAX to be paid by the employer

Post by eddyces » Sat Feb 06, 2010 4:12 pm

Hi

I am made to understand that the UK Home office has a standard taxation imposed on the employers who bring in tier 2 employees and it varies on the time frame for which they are brought in to the UK

I would like know the rates of such, that would be imposed on my concern if we are to get a IT manager / consultant on a Tier 2 visa (general / ICT)

1. Not true wat u said above.
2. The TAX and NI gets deducted according to your tax code and yearly wages as there r different tax bands according to the wages.
3. An employer has no control over your TAX and NI as the system will automatically make deductions according to your tax code.
4. Unlees employer is doing it illegaly.

So it stands right to your knowledge that as an employer i would have no change in my NI rates even if i have the employee to stay beyond say 50 weeks.

These questions are being raised as the following situation has warranted

We have a member of our indian team to be retained in the UK beyond 50 weeks and our employer has stated that being a non UK company the company would incur a higher rate of NI / taxes. and was suggesting that we move the job oppurtunity to our UK branch employees, and was quoting that these were policies from the Home office.

What i expect from this forum is a concrete statement that i can get back to my employers and tell them that they are being misled by whoever who is trying to suggest the alternative to the above situation.

Regards
Edward
