Teaching in Australia

Post by fancyrobots » Sun Jan 27, 2008 7:53 pm

I will be finishing my teaching degree (secondary maths) this summer and after completing my first year will have my QTS (qualified teaching status) which I know i can use in Australia aswell.

The only thing i'm confused about is how many years experience I would need to be able to immigrate to Australia using my QTS?

I've tried the points system and I have enough points, but I've heard that for Canada you need at least 5 years experience before you can use it to immigrate - I can't seem to find this information for Australia though?

I am a 21 year old single female, I have family in Australia, but I don't really want to go along the sponsored route.

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you!

How did you get your teacher status? Did you do a PGCE?
