Technical Analyst & HSMP

Post by Dr.Delirium » Thu Feb 24, 2005 10:42 am

Hi All,

3 months ago I've sent my documents with HSMP application, but received them back because of mistake in payment details. Now I have my application prepared and ready to send again. But still thinking, does it make sense to come into the UK. In Russia (I'm Russian citizen) I'm working in the big company, every month I'm receiving my salary ~800 GBP, for Russia this is more than enought. In case of approval I'll be in the UK with about 3k GBP in my hands w/o work. I have a question: Do I have a chance to find the work in the UK for about 1.5 - 2k GBP per month as technical analyst (Servers, AD,AV,NIDS, Communication etc.) during the first 2-3 months?

Thanks all, waiting for comments.

Generally speaking, the work is there, and the pay is adequate, but whether you personally get employed within a specific time frame - that's too difficult to predict. Besides your technical skills and specific experience that may or may not be liked by a particular manager, a lot depends on your language proficiency, social skills, persistence and other factors that fall outside of professional qualifications.

Most often, it's a personal decision of whether you'd like to risk and try and see what happens, or prefer the current stability at your Moscow job.
